Andrew Caleb Irie Gatlin was born on June 25th, 1985, to Douglas Wayne Gatlin and Sarah Dorsey Gatlin in Atlanta, Georgia. He spent his first 18 years there, going to Paideia School for a formal education and wandering the streets and internet for everything else. After a youth of enjoying most arts he became interested in Adobe Photoshop, accidently spending most of his days exploring the program and its potential. This led to many other technological interests, especially experimentation in combining art and technology. While exploring such mediums as painting, drawing, photography, and sculpure, the digital arts became a very important part of his life.

In 2003 he ventured to Baltimore Maryland to study at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), majoring in Graphic Design. After two years of Graphic Design, he realized that the static images of GD were too constricting for him, and that he preferred creating art in a conversational manner instead of a one-time creation. After switching majors to Interactive Media he has enjoyed two years of creating interactive installations and web sites that use the participants input to react and create art that even he didn't dream of.
